Heather Petet

Executive Director

Heather proudly serves as Executive Director and Corporate Development contact for the association. Heather has previous experience in all facets of association management including directing a trade association before joining the AAHFN team. Her duties include direct oversight of the AAHFN organization, works with executive committee and board of directors on plans, projections, and budget, implements decisions and supervises core staff. Prior to serving non-profit associations, she spent 5 years in the United States Air Force and earned several prestigious commendations during her enlistment.

Oversees daily operations of AAHFN. Maintains the AAHFN yearly time line. Handles accreditation for online educational course offerings. Oversees the production of the AAHFN newsletter. Assists Executive Director with special projects as needed. Staff liaison to the Education Committee, and Publications Committee

Researches viable member benefits and programs for new member recruitment and retention. Develops marketing tools to reach out to the membership. Oversees the online AAHFN Store and Bookstore. Administers Annual Meeting Gazette and Scholarship program. Serves as website communication liaison for AAHFN. Oversees all projects given to the Membership Coordinator. Implements and manages the call for volunteers (committees). Assists Executive Director with special projects as needed. Staff liaison to the Membership Committee, the Research Committee, and Scholarship Sub Committee.

Handles membership services, disseminates AAHFN information as requested, processes orders and serves as the membership frontline. Tracks all committee rosters and forms. Issues and tracks all invoices. Assists Executive Director with special projects as needed

Cheryl has been in meeting management for over 10 years and serves AH as a Senior Meetings Manager.  Cheryl earned the CMP, Certified Meeting Professional, designation in 2009.  Cheryl has experience with trade and medical meetings and exhibitions; the majority of her work has been with medical associations. 

Cheryl has worked with the American Headache Society, the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, Alcoholics Anonymous, the American Cancer Society, and the National Association of Professional Organizers.

Cheryl enjoys cooking, baking and entertaining.
