SANDI DUNBAR, RN, DSN, FAAN

Dr. Sandra Dunbar is currently the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Cardiovascular Nursing in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing of Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Her program of research has focused on psychosocial responses to serious cardiac illness, such as heart failure and ventricular arrhythmia and treatment with implantable technology (ICDs) and she has conducted NIH funded studies of patient and family responses and tested interventions to improve both physical and psychosocial outcomes. Dr. Dunbar’s current work is focuses on testing a family focused intervention to improve outcomes for patients with chronic heart failure.
